How We Got Here
A few of the moments that led us to a "yes," told in the order they happened — mostly.
Written by Violy, because Leo forgets easily (unless it is chess strategy)
It took us a surprisingly long time to find each other. When we finally did, it started with a swipe right, from one of us, at least. We will let you guess who, although the other one will probably tell you anyway.
We met for the first time in July 2024 and ended up talking for nine hours straight, from lunch to dinner to drinks. Somehow, it never felt like that long. We just had a lot to talk about and, more importantly, genuinely enjoyed being around each other.
The four-year age gap also happened to be auspicious enough to please our parents, so that seemed like a good sign too.

Of course, we could not just take each other’s word for it. We had to put each other through a few tests.
One of us volunteered at the other’s community waste bank, sorting recyclable waste. The other had to sit through a full day of chess matches without complaining. Somehow, we both made it through.
And so we kept seeing each other.

About a year and a half later, we got to the proposal. Leo had done the proper thing and asked Violy’s mum for permission first. Unfortunately, Mum accidentally gave away the surprise. The surprise was ruined, but the proposal still had to happen. So we did it properly anyway: one knee, a question, and a yes.
And now, here we are, planning a wedding.
Looking back, it is a little funny how it all started with a swipe right, followed by a few questionable tests, and a proposal that didn’t quite go according to plan.
But we are very happy with how it turned out.
Sooo, we are excited for what comes next, and even more excited to have you there to celebrate it with us! ❤️
